Allow myself to introduce....myself

I’m new here and I think I’m the first poster! Now I know how Neil Armstrong felt. I’m a 35 y/o NVLDer, diagnosed in 2011.

I’m one of the organizers of this project. Very much looking forward to having a nonjudgemental space in order to build a supportive community of NVLD/DVSD people (that’s the new name that’s going into the DSM - more about that later).

A bit about me: Had a childhood fettered and restricted by my NVLD. Didn’t get a diagnosis until 43 years of age. Presently a field biologist, ecological restoration contractor and filmmaker.

I believe you’re the person who mentioned its inclusion in the DSM on Reddit.
